Peter Druian dropped out of high school after his junior year and went directly to The University of Chicago where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in human development and his high school equivalency from the state of Illinois. He earned his PhD in psychology at Yale University in 1975, was a visiting assistant professor of psychology at City University of New York Graduate Center and at Vassar College and was a tenured associate professor of psychology at Grinnell College. He received training in client centered therapy at the Chicago Counseling and Psychotherapy Center, training in Adlerian therapy at the Adler Institute, training at the Illinois School for Professional Psychology, and training in cognitive and behavioral therapy at the Institute for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies in Philadelphia (which later became the Burns Institute). He was one of the staff psychologists there and also director of training before establishing his own private practice in Malvern in 1989. Within his practice he has directed internship training. And for many years he taught a fundamental course in psychotherapy at the graduate psychology program at Villanova University
